The 14th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Cabinet on Universal Health Insurance was convened on July 29, 2024, at the office of the Punjab Health Initiative Management Company. The meeting was chaired by Provincial Health Ministers Khawaja Salman Rafique and Khawaja Imran Nazir. The primary agenda focused on providing a progress update and assessing the impact of interventions implemented for the long-term sustainability of Universal Health Insurance (UHI).
Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique praised Secretary Health Punjab, Chief Executive Officer of the Punjab Health Initiative Management Company, Dr. Ali Razaque, and his entire team for their commendable efforts. Their reforms in the health insurance program have resulted in substantial government savings of thirty-three billion rupees.
