Public Private Partnership (500 Bedded Hospitals)

Pakistan has the sixth largest population in the world at 207.7 million approx. with 60% falling in bracket of labour force. In Punjab situation stands at 0.46 hospital beds per 1000 habitants which is lower than the international benchmark i.e. 2 beds per 1000 habitants. Therefore, in spite of substantial influx of resources, the public sector health care facilities remain overburdened.

This gap has enabled PHIMC as mandated by Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department (SH&MED) to establish a pilot health facility in Lahore, with a capacity of 500 beds and state of the art technology to cater for large number of private and government/philanthropic subsidized patients under one roof.

Punjab Health Initiative Management Company (PHIMC), department of specialized healthcare, government of Punjab is entering into PPP arrangements for construction, operation and maintenance of general hospitals.

It is firmly believed that this project shall not only help bridge the aforementioned gap but it will also prove to be a quantum step towards our goal of elevating health standards of the masses.
