Prime Minister of Pakistan, along with Chief Minister Punjab, and Health Minister Punjab inaugurated Universal Health Insurance for whole population of the Punjab province in an event held in Layyah on May 26, 2021. All population of 7 districts of Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan divisions including Sahiwal, Okara, Pakpattan, DG Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur will get free healthcare facilities under Sehat Sahulat Program.
“Universal health coverage is found in very few countries across the world where the government is completely paying for the public’s health expenses,” PM said on this occasion.
“The insurance will provide a safety net to poor people. They won’t have to worry about hospital bills anymore”, the prime minister remarked.
